Learn Now

In the fall of 2011, our church spent 16 weeks relearning the basic story of the Bible from beginning to end. By putting the whole story together, the parts begin to make even more sense. If you would like a refresher course on the Bible, you can listen to each of these lessons. If you would like to order your own copy of the participant book, click the image to the left.

Jesus and Nature
If someone asked you, “How did Jesus stay spiritually connected to God the Father?” what would be your best guess? Would it be that he went to the Temple in Jerusalem as most other Jews of his day did? Would it be that he spent time learning scripture in the synagogue? Both of these would be good guesses and they were important parts of his life and ministry. But they aren’t the main way that Jesus connected with God the Father. I’m not surprised that the main way didn’t immediately come to mind because you probably haven’t heard many sermons about it or done bible studies on it. So, would you be surprised to learn that the way Jesus stayed connected to God the Father was through spending time in nature?
This document is a handout from the Family Camp that Pastor Rich led at Lutherhill on this topic. It gives scripture references about the importance of spending time in nature to reconnect with God, gives suggestions for fun ways to spend more time in nature, and more. Download it here.
